Karen’s Life

Karen’s Life

Karen Jay Pagana Gayang was born on September 03, 1999 at the rocky high mountains of La Trinidad, Benguet. She cat recall any interesting story regarding her birth and because no one told her story about her birth. She was raised by her loving, caring and supportive parents together with her five sisters and six brothers. When she was young, they call her by her nickname “tikot”. Washing dishes is her responsibility at her home ever since she was young. As a child, she was afraid of the dark and slimy animals such as snakes and worms.

Her parent’s didn’t have a good marriage because her father is a drunkard. Karen’s mother is selling goods in their store while his father is a labourer. Her parents are busy and focus on their work but they still know their responsibilities to their children and they still spare time for their family. When her family is still living in one house, they spend their family time by eating dinner together.

Karen Jay graduated at Bahong Elementary School and finished her grade seven and eight levels at Guisad valley National high School then she transferred to Tublay School of Home Industries to complete grade nine and ten. She is currently enrolled in King’s College of the Philippines as a grade twelve student and she is now taking Humanities and Social Sciences. She is active both socially and academically because she communicates with her classmates and active academically because she maintains her good grades and does her best in any school activity as well as paper works to achieve a higher grade. English is her favorite subject because it is very interesting and she loves to learn and study more about it. She has a C.V.E teacher back when she was in grade ten who made her realize that her mistakes can change her way of living. At first, she hated her teacher because she keeps on making her feel guilty about her mistakes but those mistakes and advises became a challenge for her to prove what she can really do.

She still keeps in touch with her best friend Jackilyn Digmayo through messenger and text messages. She loved a boy name Allyson Jean Corpuz but they both know that they are friends. She has never been courted because she knew that Allyson is showing her friendly gestures.

Karen grew without meeting her grandparents so her parents are the ones who are giving advices to her. Her parents are always repeating these advices to her “education is very important so even though you are not too smart and even if you don’t have too many achievements as long as you focus on your studies.” For living, all the challenges and problems you may encounter, remember that there is someone who will support and love you and God will still be with you. Living a good life is doing what you want to do but always remember that there is a limitation in everything and there is a consequence in every choice so you must be also responsible by the consequences.

For her, living a good life knows how to respect others and living a successful life is working hard for the things you want to achieve and strive hard to reach your dreams.

The three best qualities she has are good, active in all things and sociable while her worst is being judgemental. She thinks that being sociable to others is what stayed in her and what changed is her personality behaviour and appearance because while she is growing she become more mature. The main lesson she learned is “no matter if you are betrayed and still hurting inside you must know that God is always there in every steps you take”. She said that happiness is when you do the things you want to do to please you. The special saying for her is “give the best and experience the best.”
